
The Canadian Postal Museum is please to present a free screening of Il Postino at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 22 in the Theatre of the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Il Postino is a 1994 Italian language film directed by Michael Radford.
It tells the story of real-life Chilean poet Pablo Neruda and his relationship with a simple postman who learns to love poetry. The movie stars Philippe Noiret, Massimo Troisi and Maria Grazia Cucinotta. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., join guest artist Marie-Pierre Kroetsch in the Marius Barbeau Lobby for a special pop art workshop.
This film is presented in conjunction with the exhibition The Post Goes Pop, which looks at the role played by the postal service in everyday life and explores how postal symbols have come to represent the values and activities of contemporary society.
