Bishop Eddie Long's wife stands by her man today

Vanessa Long has not left her husband after he paid-off his accusers and the church calls her a "dedicated wife" who is standing by her husband as he gets through this scandal without consequences.

Bishop Eddie Long’s wife was rumored to have moved out of their family home after Long settled his sexual abuse cases out of court. While no one would blame this woman for leaving Long after his recent sexual abuse case settlement, which many take as a sign of guilt, this is not the case. The New Birth Missionary Church released a statement saying that this is not true and Long and his wife are very much together under the same roof, according to the website EurWeb.

As Long recently settled his four sexual abuse cases for a reported 25 Million, he was able to avoid what would have amounted to a very public trial, according to Eurweb.com. A trial were details of his actions would have been all over the media. This bishop of one of the largest Mega Churches in this country has gotten through this basically unscathed. Where this money is coming from to pay off his accusers is also a question being asked today. Was it money from the church? If so, than it was the church followers who paid-off his scandal. Where does a self professed man of God get 25 million dollars?

The New Birth Missionary Baptist Church is a very powerful entity, and as seen in this Bishop Long sex scandal, it is like a municipal all of its own. It appears to consist of people who govern and bi-laws that apparently were molded to fit this incident. Long wasn't removed from his duties at all, even while an investigation into these allegations was under way.

Even the statement that this church released denying that Vanessa Long has moved out of the family home refers to her a “New Birth First Lady Elder Vanessa Long.” This is a title of prestige, as if Long and his wife are the President and the First Lady of some type of individual government.

The statement released by the church addressing the rumors that Long's wife has left him read: “Recently, some blog entries have surfaced claiming to have anonymous sources stating that New Birth First Lady Elder Vanessa Long has moved out of the house. That claim is completely and absolutely false. Mrs. Long is very much a loving, dedicated and committed wife and mother.”

This mega church recently saw Reverend Bernice King, Martian Luther King's daughter, resign from her post. She did this shortly after Long's settlement to his accusers was announced. The church insists the timing was coincidental and Long released a statement through the church addressing this.

“For some time now, Reverend King and I have been in discussion and prayer about the call of God on her life to continue the legacy of her father and mother. … This is a compelling mandate that places Reverend King squarely in the center of God’s Will of her life and I am in full support of her decision to leave New Birth in pursuit of this worthy endeavor,” was what Long had to say about Kind's departure.

When Long decided to pay-off his accusers, many felt this was because he was guilty. If he was innocent of such horrendous accusations, he would have fought to save his good name. The Endtime Observer website is just one of many saying this about Long's case.

Long still has his position in the church, his million dollar mansion and two Bentley cars provided through the church and now it sounds as if his wife and family are still intact. This man has suffered no consequences from this incident. Other than a media frenzy, which is already winding down, nothing has changed for him. This is in great contrast to the Anthony Weiner scandal occurring in Washington today. Weiner had an online scandal with grown women via the Internet. His inappropriate pictures and texts have ruined his political life. He never touched these women, it was a sexual relationship of words that he is guilty of and the consequences for this has been life changing and humiliation. Not so for Long.

The Bishop on the other hand, is accused of grooming young boys for sex and then engaging in sexual relations with the boys when they turn 16, which is the legal age of consent in Georgia. This appears very calculating on his part, but none of this matters anymore. The scandal is over for Long and will soon fade into history as he emerges untouched. Long will continue on as if nothing happened. The inner workings of this Mega Church appears to be more powerful than what we see in politics.

Here we go again.... We pass judgemnet, gossip and love a scandal. We love to see the destruction of each other. we jump a teh fact to read something negative and see someone else destroyed publicly. If he is gulity that between him, God and New Birth. The fact is that we have countless people in the US that are guilty of crimes that shall remain nameless..but if tht truth be really told sin is sin, no mater wh you are or at what level. We need to pray, for him, the accusers, the church for the body of christ. Are we bashing the accusers, if it true they are just as guilty as he is, regardless of what happened. When will we learn to extend the grace that Gods extends to us everyday, with all of our faults, and mistakes. I am so gratefult for his grace and mercy..and cthe compassion God shows me...arent you...if so pass it along....ALSO who does Bishop Long have to address, u, me , the people on this blog, the world, the answer is really simple, he is Gods man, he has addressed his family, church, and ultimately that is all he is responsible for....unfortunately we think because he is a mega church he answers to the media..no not the case.......he answers to God...he was the one who called him....Let God deal with it America~~

To the people who say "judge not" when it comes to Bishop Long: Did you say "judge not" when Eddie Long paraded in the streets of Atlanta attacking gay people ? It is a YES or NO question.

In response the march was not just about gay people. It was about everything we as people were struggling with including family, crime, the economy, and etc. . I went to the New Birth the Sunday before the march. People who weren't there (at Church) would say it was just about attacking the gays but it wasn't. It was for us to pray and pretty much for the church as a whole to come together. Through teachings and studying God's word for yourself you would understand the not to judge part. people took what they want from the march because they were outside looking in.

SOOOO what's really going on??? We write comments and down eachother but #27 the "shut up" person said it best. WE DON'T KNOW THE HEART OF MAN. ONLY GOD KNOW and that should be that. STOP trying to be GOD and telling him he should stepped. What if GOD have plans and told him to stay put. Who are you to tell someone to not obey GOD'S word. That is why we worry about ourselves and our relationship with GOD. Ms. Teacher I read I Corin 5 and honey I advise you to read MORE of the bible and study it day and night if you need to. Maybe you won't have time to sit on here and respond to every comment you see, that's if you have a life. I know alot about New Birth and can actually talk about the church based on that. Bishop Long is not arrogant and doesn't appear to be that. He has done alot more than others. Yet, anybody can talk and judge and form their own opinion though, I really don't care. True enough no one should use the pulpit to get what they want but at the same time the guys knew he was a married man with kids and that was always expressed. So why hurt a wife and family for your own personal gain, it doesn't matter if you were offered money, cars, clothes, trips, and a chance to meet the famous. HAVE RESPECT FOR YOURSELF AND THAT PERSONS FAMILY to not go there but get yourself out the situation and report it if you have to. But being weak minded I guess people don't care that's why there are so many affairs that take place today. Everybody is out for self to see how it could only benefit self. So if they would have been girls messing with a married man for money, trips, and etc. would people then hold them more accountable?? Regardless all sin is the same in the eyes of God. "He who is without sin cast the first stone", meaning NO sin is better than the other. Just make sure YOUR living YOUR life the way you suppose to. We don't know what happened, we weren't there but most importantly God knows and see all and HE will take care of it. It's not your battle or anyone else. So this may or may not end, I wouldn't be surprise. Anybody could lie. For the difficult one's who would say your not in the boys shoes and I would do the same. To answer: no, I wouldn't drop low for money or anything. I understand, I didn't have two parents, there was one, but I have more respect for myself and others. TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY THEY SHOULD GO is what all parents should do. Keep eachother in prayer and take care of your business. Hope nothing like that on both sides never happen to you or your family. LET GOD BE GOD.

Not only do I have a life,I have a life in Christ!! Just as I would agree that I don't know Eddie's heart, you don't know mine! I do study the word of God and understand it as well.It seems that you are one of many who keep dismissing what the Bible has t say about church discipline.Eddie is accounatble to everyone he ministers too as well as to his family. I will continue to do what I am called to do!!

Go to fox 5 atlanta's website to see him, I mean her or whatever.....It's only fitting 5 accusers, 5 rocks ! Judge not people: Still waiting on an answer to my question: Did you say "judge not" when Eddie Long paraded in the streets of Atlanta attacking gay people ? It is still a YES or NO question.

You will not get a reasonable answer my Brother because they are too busy defending Eddie's sin and attacking the truth of the words wriiten by you myslef and others here!! I have seen the article re: the fifth person and I am in no wat shape or form surprised!! Had there been repentence in the first place instead of this declaration of the "five rocks" reference,Eddie may have gone and gotten the counseling he needs.............bit to not even so much as apologize to his won congregation? That is difficult to accept no matter what anyone types here.Eddie does not get a free because he is a pastor!! CJ,I wait with you to get an answer concise with Scripture to your question brother!! I will not teach one thing and demand accountability of my congregation, then "behind" closed doors live a double life!! There really is no such thing as behind closed doors in the life of the believer. How do any of us know that Eddie isn't sexually abising somebody's baby at this very moment!! We need to stop defending his sin.
