The moving image takes center stage at Caught on Film, the Walker Art Center's Free First Saturday event from 10 am-5 pm Saturday, March 3.
Featured events include Girls in the Director's Chair, a series of films by Minnesota girls age 8-18, part of this year's Women with Vision festival; screenings of high school student Kiri Davis' award-winning film A Girl Like Me; art lab activities where patrons can make sunglasses and a movie of their own; Party People Photo, where a camera will project portraits on a live-feed video display; a story reading; and a gallery crawl to discover how artists Shiraga Kazuo and Bruce Nauman use paint and video to record their bodies' movements.
Activities are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
