After law enforcements started dealing with what is an infraction in LA, the officers suspected substance abuse and so he was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test.
The 43-year-old singer who has seen more than his share of troubles on and off for years and even decades, often because of reported use of illegal drugs, such as cocaine, went to Van Nuys jail after being stopped at the corner of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue.
Local reports say that the time of arrest was just after noon on Monday, which is just four days since the world was told how Brown's ex-wife Whitney Houston died. Sadly, her autopsy done by the Los Angeles Coroner showed cocaine in the star's system.
As LA County Chief Coroner Craig Harvey put it, Whitney Houston would have used the illegal drug just prior to when she passed out "in the bathrub at the [Beverly Hilton] hotel."
So, with cocaine a contributing factor to Whitney's death, and prior to that, possibly a contributing factor to the demise of her marriage to Bobby, both Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown have had struggles with the drug and other serious matters such as spousal abuse. Because of this past, today's arrest may possibly have been a life-saver for the 43-year-old singer if it causes the talent to now attempt to get sober.
That said, there's no doubt Bobby Brown mourns the loss of his former wife of 14 years. For a brief part of the service, Brown attended her New Jersey memorial (see story here) as did their daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
And so, as his reality show with wife Whitney Houston was called, Being Bobby Brown is probably not the person young fans would want to emulate today when the singer was arrested in LA for a possible DUI (driving Under the influence), the second of these serious infractions earned by Brown as seen on his record to date.
This story is still breaking so stay tuned for updates.
