Sunday night's SAG Awards 2012 gave Kyra Sedgwick a chance to show off her toned body in a form-fitting, red Pucci gown that rocked a bunch of cut-outs, one of this season's fashion trends.

And through one of those cutouts was the ability to peek at The Closer actress' tattoo which she explained to E! Entertainment reporter Guilana Rancic is a "family tattoo."

Kyra, who is married to Kevin Bacon, and who is mother to their two kids, 22-year-old Travis and 19-year-old Sosie, had the letters K, K, S and T permanently inked on her torso. Sedgwick told Rancic that the very noticeable tattoo is not new, but she didn't mention when and where she had the embellishment added to her rocking body.

Meanwhile, Kyra had joined her husband for the massive actor's get-together at Los Angeles' landmark Shrine Auditorium at which she and Kevin presented the award for outstanding supporting female actor in a mini-series or movie to Octavia Spencer for her work in The Help.

In addition, Sedgwick was up for an award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series but her Brenda Johnson character in the TNT drama, Closer, did get her the win.

Instead, the actor trophy given by the SAG Awards for this category in 2012 went to Jessica Lange for her portrayal of sadistic Constance Langdon in the FX program called American Horror Story instead.

Others in the same category as Sedgwick and Lange were Glenn Close, who stars in Damages on Direct TV; Kathy Bates, who stars in Harry's Lawon NBC; and Julianna Margulies, who stars in Good Wife on CBS.

Meanwhile, at the 2012 SAG Awards, Kyra Sedgwick may not have won for her role in The Closer, but she did win in the sartorial game for her spot-on red carpet gown made by Pucci that featured cut-outs perfect for peeking at this accomplished actress' homespun tattoo.

Meanwhile, after the awards wrapped and the celebrities headed out and about Los Angeles, Kyra tweeted a picture of her sky high slip on platform Casadei heels, simply saying "Ouch."

Still, the effort was worth it given the occasion--the 2012 SAG Awards--and the compliments that cover the social media scene before, during and after the show. Congratulations were given by all sorts of pundits who called Kyra Sedgwick a winner in the fashion arena even though she didn't take home an award on Sunday night.
