At least two suspected rebels were killed when special troops today stormed a house in Russia's southern republic of Daghestan.
The head of the local branch of Russia's FSB security service, Nikolai Gryaznov, said two bodies were found in the burning wreckage that was left after the operation in the Kizlyar district and a third body was being sought.
Officials said they believed the dead men were members of a rebel group active in neighbouring Chechnya.
