Dutch queen starts 4-day state visit to Turkey

Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands started a four-day state visit to Turkey on Tuesday, her first visit to the predominantly Muslim but secular country that wants to join the European Union.

The Dutch monarch was scheduled to meet with Turkey's President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan later Tuesday, reports AP.
