FTSE Wins Two Index Awards In Asia

FTSE Group, the global index company, is proud to announce that the company received the award for ‘Index Provider of the Year’ at the inaugural Structured Products Asia Awards hosted in Hong Kong last week and also the “Best Provider of Tradable Indices, Asia-Pacific” in AsianInvestor’s 2008 Service Providers Awards announced this week.

‘We are proud to be recognised as leaders in the index industry and these awards are testament to the strong relationships we have built in the Asia-Pacific region with manufacturers of structured products,” said Paul Hoff, Managing Director Asia-Pacific, FTSE Group. “FTSE is committed to providing best-in-class indices for all asset classes to meet the needs of Asian and global investors.”

FTSE is a leader in the design, calculation and dissemination of tradable indices and has launched many Asian-themed indices in the last year to be used as the underlying for structured products. These include the revamped STI, the FTSE SET Large Cap Index for the Thai market, the FTSE Vietnam Index and the FTSE IDFC Indian Infrastructure 30 Index.

FTSE also won ‘Index Provider of the Year’ in the 2008 Global Pensions awards held in February. This was the third time FTSE has received this award. -- www.ftse.com
