Calculating TOPIX In Relation To Resona

Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) announced today that, as of the close of trading on October 30, 2008, it will include the shares of Resona Holdings, Inc. (SICC code: 8308) held by Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) in its calculation of the TOPIX and its sub-indices.

Although the shares held by DICJ were not originally included in the number of listed shares to be used for index calculation that the TSE announced on June 11, 2003, they will now be included in conjunction with the periodic review of FFW (Free-Float Weight).
