On Saturday, November 1 at 8 pm in the Schuster Center, Assistant Conductor Patrick Reynolds and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will present 50 Years of Rock 'N Roll, a special presentation of nostalgic rock and roll hits – especially arranged for large orchestral accompaniment – performed by the DPO and the innovative Canadian rock ensemble Jeans 'n Classics.

Headed by lead guitarist and arranger Peter Brennan, its concept of combining rock musicians, star headliners, and world-class symphony orchestras has drawn capacity crowds. In fact, Brennan has over 1,000 orchestral rock scores to his credit! "Fifty Years Of Rock 'n Roll could also be called 'The Best Of Jeans 'n Classics'," Brennan states. "We've selected material from sixteen of our over forty productions. Ten of our very best will deliver an amazing night of pop, rock, and R&B hits and classics spanning the past fifty years. Led Zeppelin to James Taylor; Michael Jackson to Elton John...and much more, all focused around the Dayton Philharmonic. It's an evening of great artists; terrific music; excitement, fun and nostalgia. Don't miss it!"

Jeans 'n Classics is comprised of Peter and his ensemble players who will team up with Patrick Reynolds and the DPO for a night you won't forget. 50 Years of Rock 'n Roll is a wide-ranging tour-de-force of half a century of hard-rockin' classics, especially those that showcase the unique blend of rock with orchestra.

"For lots of us," DPO Assistant Conductor Patrick Reynolds remarks, "this concert will be one big trip down memory lane. For others, even if you didn't grow up with every single tune we'll play, it's a classic Rock & Roll list – one hit after another. I guarantee something for everyone on this concert."

This concert is presented with support from the Miriam Rosenthal Memorial Trust Fund. -- www.daytonphilharmonic.com
