EasyETF is continuing to develop its range around two key investment themes for the future: the Middle East and Socially Responsible Investment (SRI). After listing the first Egypt tracker fund on Euronext Paris, EasyETF is now launching the first United Arab Emirates tracker alongside another on Kuwait. An ETF investing in waste management and treatment is also now listed.

After launching 18 new trackers in less than six months, EasyETF continues to believe that diversification, both in terms of asset classes and exposure, has a positive impact on investment portfolios. Three new ETFs were created with a focus on two key investment themes for the future: the Middle East and the environment.

EasyETF DJ United Arab Emirates and EasyETF DJ Kuwait Titans 30 offer investors easy access to two major Middle Eastern countries.

• “The Middle East is one of the world’s most promising growth regions. Though quite a heterogeneous region, the Middle East has been relatively spared by the global economic crisis up to now. Furthermore, in terms of economic development, the IMF puts its growth rate at nearly 6% per year since 2003*,” explains Danièle Tohmé-Adet, Co-Manager of the EasyETF platform at BNP Paribas Asset Management.

While the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of the top oil producers in the world, the diversification of its sources of income has prevented it from being excessively impacted by the ups and downs of the oil crisis. Its GDP growth was 7.8% in 2007 and is expected to come out at 7% per year for the next five years. EasyETF DJ United Arab Emirates replicates the performance of the Dow Jones UAE Select TR index, which covers up to 20 of the largest listed stocks in the UAE.

• Kuwait is the fourth richest country in the world. Over 50% of its GDP is derived from the oil industry. Economists forecast a growth rate of 6% per year for the next five years. EasyETF DJ Kuwait Titans 30 replicates the Dow Jones Kuwait Titans 30 TR index, which reflects the performance of the largest, most liquid stocks listed on the Kuwait exchange.

EasyETF BNP Paribas Global Waste is also listed on Euronext Paris. This tracker rises to the challenge of aiding the environment and, as such, is the latest addition to our family of environmentally friendly EasyETFs.

The world population is expected to reach 9 billion people by 2050. Waste production will evolve in line with this growth, meaning that waste management is poised to become an environmental issue of major importance.
EasyETF BNP Paribas Global Waste replicates the S-Box BNP Paribas Global Waste Management TR index, which lists companies that place the greatest value on waste management and treatment.

According to Guillaume Dolisi, Head of index structuring at BNP Parbas Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), “Waste treatment is a major challenge that needs to be met in the short term and offers long-term economic prospects to companies operating in this sector.” -- www.euronext.com
