Renowned opera company, Ellen Kent, is bringing Bizet’s sultry spectacular Carmen and Puccini’s heartbreaking beautiful La Boheme to Blackpool’s Grand Theatre on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th November.

These two dazzling new productions will be staged in a magnificent amphitheatre setting and performed by handpicked international soloists alongside the full Chisinau National Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus.

Bizet’s irresistibly emotional Carmen guarantees an evening of passion and romance, with unforgettable melodies including the best known baritone aria of all - The Toreador’s Song. The Grand will be transformed into a Spanish spectacular reminiscent of the real bullrings in Spain with international Flamenco dancer Sam Quy - last seen in the Royal Opera House’s production of Carmen, bull fighters and a brass band parading through the venue into the Seville bullring to start this must see performance.

Sung in French with English surtitles

Blackpool’s Grand will also be intriguingly converted into the attics and back streets of Bohemian Paris for Puccini’s passionate opera La Boheme. The poignancy of this tragic opera will be set against the stunning backdrops inspired by Chagall, Renoir and the Impressionists and Act 2 will even boast snow! This beautiful production will feature authentic costumes of the period and the most romantic music Puccini ever wrote including the famous aria Your Tiny Hand is Frozen. -- www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
