Rededication and reinvention has enabled the event to grow into a multifaceted haute couture fashion phenomenon akin to preeminent events held in Paris, Milan, London, Madrid, Tokyo and New York's Bryant Park.
Symphony Style takes place Friday, November 14, spotlighting the fashions of designer Peggy Jennings in her first featured show in Wisconsin. The designer does not disclose her client list, but is known for her garments that are worn by First Ladies, celebrities, CEOs of major corporations, chairwomen of notable charities and other women with high expectations for quality and exquisite attention to detail.
Peggy Jennings' pieces are revered for meticulous workmanship – every button hole is hand bound and all garments are silk lined. Her designs are described as "feminine and tailored," featuring creative use of European fabrics, elaborate embroidery and sequining. Jennings operates her signature design house in New York City and oversees the hand-crafting of each piece in her personal facility in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Milwaukee's premiere fashion event is co-chaired by Tony Chakonas, Kyle Cherek, Jordan DeChambre-Childers and Cynthia Stoll. As is tradition, Symphony Style supports the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. The event provides guests with an evening of exclusive fashion worn by professional runway models, live music, Style Bars, gourmet food stations and a silent auction featuring exceptional and one-of-a-kind items.
Designer Peggy Jennings' spring collection, hosted by Au Courant, begins after guest seating on on Friday, November 14th, at 8:30 p.m.; cocktails and mingling kick off at 6:30 p.m. Phone interviews are available pre-show; John Jennings, the designer's son, is attending the event. -- www.mso.org
