Travis Barker Sues Aviation Companies For A Plane Crash

Travis Barker sues several companies involved in a charter plane flight, which resulted with a crash and death of plane personnel member’s and Barker’s friends.

Travis Barker is a punk musician, the former drummer Blink-182. That day he was flying back to Los Angeles together with celebrity disc jockey DJ AM after a joint performance in South Carolina.

On September 19 the plane was flying back to Los Angeles, when it experienced a crash. Two pilots, Chris Baker (the star’s assistant), and Charles Monroe Still Jr. (the bodyguard) died as a result. Barker himself was injured and needed medical assistance to recover.

Now the punk stars files a suit, blaming those responsible for the flight: Global Exec Aviation - the owner company of the plane, Goodyear - the company maintaining the jet, and the two companies that arranged the charter flight Clay Lacy Aviation Inc. and Inter Travel and Services Inc.

Besides, Travis claims that the pilots were lacking professional skills: “they should have tried to take off rather than continue down the runway.”

However, Goodyear spokesman Ed Markey has an explanation on why the crash took place, again according to The Associated Press: "While the tires may have been involved, it is too early to speculate on a cause. The performance of the tire is dependent on how the tire was used, if it was properly maintained and whether it was damaged before the accident."
