Holiday Season Concerts With Vancouver Symphony

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra celebrates the Holiday season like no other Arts organization in Vancouver. All sorts of festive choices await audiences in Vancouver and around the Lower Mainland. The festivities kick off with a holiday concert for toddlers and their families: Tiny Tots: Holiday Hooray features professional educators and entertainers, Let Your Music Shine with Lisa and Linda, and the beloved music of Tchaikovsky.

Next up is the Lower Mainland's favourite Holiday Music Tradition, A Traditional Christmas, with VSO Assistant Conductor Evan Mitchell, host Christopher Gaze, and two great choirs: EnChor and the UBC Opera Ensemble. These concerts feature carols, sing-a-longs, and Baroque music typically associated with the Holidays. The Holiday spirit comes alive in fourteen performances that take place in six different venues across the Lower Mainland, including St. Andrew's Wesley Church in downtown Vancouver, and venues in Burnaby (the Traditional Christmas debut at the Michael J. Fox theatre!), South Delta, Surrey, North Vancouver and West Vancouver.

The celebrations continue with Vivaldi's Four Seasons, a timeless and popular classic, featuring leader/violinist Duncan Riddell, the Concertmaster of the Bournemouth Symphony. These performances take place both at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, and at New Westminster's Massey Theatre. The wildly popular Bugs Bunny on Broadway rounds out the holiday season as a fun concert for kids and adults alike, just before the New Year. This concert features a unique blend of classic Warner Bros. cartoons shown on a large screen, while the orchestra plays the soundtracks on stage.

Enjoy Holiday cheer and great music with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra!
