'Pathway To The Red Sun' Comes To Rogue Theatre

Pathway to the Red Sun, a brand new work by Cornish company Rogue Theatre, is a daring, visually arresting and powerful production that arrives at the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe on Saturday 29th November.

Pathway to the Red Sun promises to be a thrilling experience as the story follows the symbolic journey of a soldier who seeks his lost innocence and a woman who seeks her lost love, all set in a futuristic apocalyptic landscape.

Rogue Theatre, who last year brought us Madame Lucinda’s Wonder Show, has a unique style that combines filmic influences with circus spectacle and powerful narrative. This their fourth production draws visual and storytelling inspiration from Madame Butterfly, Blade Runner, Pan’s Labyrinth, Donnie Darko, Quentin Tarrantino, Tim Burton, and Japanese culture.

Poetry and text by Anna Maria Murphy, who has previously written for Kneehigh Theatre, National Theatre and Radio 4, are set to a live emotive musical score that mixes classical music with heart pounding rhythm and a driving bass.

Founded in 2005 by Angelina Boscarelli and Ollie Oakenshield, Rogue Theatre have developed a unique style that mixes different art forms and genres together seeing their productions appeal to a wide range of people. They create daring high quality work to explore stories and ideas that are stirring and relevant and Pathway to the Red Sun promises to be no exception to this rule. -- www.northdevontheatres.org.uk
