Santa will pay a special visit to The Workshops Rail Museum on Sunday 30 November 2008. The popular Santa Sunday will include festive themed arts and crafts activities, such as making Christmas decorations, a free jumping castle, rides on The Workshops Express miniature train and a viewing of the children's film Polar Express.
Children will also receive a special treat and have the chance to tell Santa what they would like for Christmas. Director of The Workshops Rail Museum Andrew Moritz said the event provided a wonderful opportunity for families to experience the Museum with some added activities.
"A highlight of the day is the Santa Sunday Steam Train which departs from and returns to The Workshops Rail Museum," Mr Moritz said.
"The steam train excursion will take passengers on a 90 minute trip through South East Queensland travelling on vintage wooden carriages pulled by one of QR's restored steam engines."
Visitors can purchase Annual Pass Membership when they visit the Santa Sunday event which allows unlimited entry into The Workshops Rail Museum for 12 months including forthcoming events such as Day out with Thomas 2009, Toyland Express and Circus Train.
The Workshops Rail Museum is a campus of the Queensland Museum and is the winner of the 2007 Australia Tourism Awards for Heritage and Cultural Tourism. -- www.qm.qld.gov.au
