Residents of Toowoomba Regional Council can celebrate free entry into Cobb and Co Museum at the Big Day for Little People on Sunday 30 November. The fun begins at 9am with a Little Cobbers session to encourage discovery and learning with further sessions held at 9:45am and 10:30am.
Activities specifically for children take place from 9am to 4pm and include horse-drawn vehicle rides, a free sausage sizzle, Burguu Matya (Aboriginal tic-tac-toe), face painting, badge making, old time games and a big/little trail around the Museum.
The day features rides in Little Squirt thanks to the Department of Emergency Services and heritage trucks on display from the Main Roads Heritage Centre.
Museum Director Deborah Tranter said the Big Day for Little People was a great way to celebrate free entry to the Museum for all residents thanks to the Toowoomba Regional Council.
"Many residents of the new regional council area may not yet know that they can receive free entry to the Museum by presenting proof of their address," Mrs Tranter said.
"The Big Day for Little People will show that not only is Cobb and Co free to residents, but the Museum features great activities that will keep people returning throughout the year."
"With blacksmithing workshops, heritage lectures, school holiday programs and exhibitions on the Megafauna of the Darling Downs, most visitors are surprised at the wide appeal of the Museum." -- www.qm.qld.gov.au
