Years Of Experience Shared At Model Railway Convention

Model railway enthusiasts will share their passion and knowledge at the Australian Model Railway Convention hosted by The Workshops Rail Museum on 28 February 2009. The convention will draw on the skills of modelling experts to present sessions on scenery construction, digital controlling, researching different eras, painting and rollingstock.

The convention has been designed to accommodate a range of ability levels from beginners to advanced. Director of The Workshops Rail Museum Andrew Moritz said the Australian Model Railway Convention will offer a broad spectrum of activities in a truly unique atmosphere.

"As the birthplace of rail in Queensland, we are sure that The Workshops Rail Museum will inspire the modellers that attend," Mr Moritz said.

"It is a unique opportunity for modellers to learn how to build a particular piece of rollingstock while sitting in front of the real life-sized version."

Registration for the Australian Model Railway Convention is $66.00 per person and includes a convention pack, lunch and an in-depth tour of The Workshops Rail Museum. -- www.qm.qld.gov.au
