La Quinta Hosts Toys For Tots Event

Buy a toy and head over to Radio Active - Desert Lifestyles Showroom on December 8th to celebrate Toys for Tots Annual Fundraiser. Toys for Tots, the nation's premiere Christmas charitable undertakings, will be holding its annual fundraising event at the local La Quinta showroom this holiday season and is encouraging all to come.

Hosted by the La Quinta Chamber of Commerce and The Legends Group, the event will be one to remember, featuring a variety of food, drinks and entertainment from John Stanley King Band and Satori.

Celebrating with the group will be three Marines, representing the directors and driving force of the charitable program, the U.S. Marine Corps. Also making an appearance at this event, will be the newly selected 2009 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Girls playing the role of Santa's Helpers. Toys for Tots' main purpose of bringing hope to disadvantaged children during Christmas will be the central focus of the night's events, having "the cost admission" for each guest as one unwrapped toy.

Toys for Tots, founded in 1947 and directed by the U.S. Marine Corps, is fueled by the passion to help economically disadvantaged children during the holiday season. Through the months of October to December, the program holds campaigns throughout the country, generating toy distribution. Local coordinators then team up with social welfare agencies, churches and other local agencies to distribute the toys throughout the community on December 24th and 25th to children in need.

All toys donated at the Toys for Tots La Quinta event will be distributed to children throughout the Coachella Valley. The program allows us to take a part in this hope and give a tangible sign to children in our community that they are not forgotten.

To give a message of joy to a disadvantaged child this Christmas, join Toys for Tots on December 8th at 6:00 p.m. -- La Quinta Chamber of Commerce
