Belgrade Theatre will play Serenades for the City on 18 June 2009.
Coventry’s own orchestra, comprising of professional and amateur players working in partnership, will be performing Mozart, Gran Partitta in Bb, K.361 (Serenade for Thirteen Wind Instruments) and Brahms, Serenade No.2 in A, Op.16.
Conducted by Colin Touchin, former Director of Music at the University of Warwick, this first appearance in the Belgrade combines a superb early work of Brahms for chamber orchestra with one of the greatest of Mozart’s wind chamber works, so memorably featured in Amadeus. -- www.belgrade.co.uk
