Date At Living Desert For Valentine's Day

Celebrate with your valentine all month long at The Living Desert, with a variety a fun, upcoming events to suit all ages.

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than catching a glimpse of love at the zoo? The Living Desert Animal Keepers and Education Specialists will be hosting Love at the Zoo, February 14th, 6:00-9:00 p.m., which includes a guided interpretive tour of selected animal exhibits.

At each exhibit, guests will be inspired by how some of the desert's most incredible animals find their mates. Then, on to some savory Valentine's Day refreshments at the fabulous, new, Stephen B. Chase Building and surprises, before returning home after this very special treat! Ages 16 and up.

Guests can bring their own refreshments to this perennially popular series of concerts and enjoy world-class jazz. Food and beverages are available for purchase as part of patrons' support for the mission of The Living Desert. For those bringing their own wine, there will be a $5 corkage fee. Table numbers are assigned, and performances are held indoors in the Education Center Building. Seating capacity is limited, advance paid reservations are required. Tickets are not sold at the door.

For those looking to lure their lover on a romantic excursion, the Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy Trip, February 19th, is just the perfect getaway. Met with great acclaim, "Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy," will be at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Enjoy matinee orchestra seats for this wonderful Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy Trip performance.

Furry fun for loved ones of all ages can be found during The Living Desert's Animal Enrichment Weekend, February 21st and 22nd, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Free with regular park admission, guests can learn about some of the interesting methods used by The Living Desert's animal keepers to ensure that animals are happy and engaged with their environment.

Enrichment programs make the animals' lives a little more interesting by providing mental stimulation, physical activity and in some cases, interaction with their keepers. Many hours are spent by the animal staff and volunteers to research and develop appropriate enrichment items for the animals. -- www.livingdesert.org
