The 75-year-old Florentine Opera Company of Milwaukee presents an all-new production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's enchanting The Magic Flute in April of 2009 as its anniversary season draws to a close.
The young, and the young-at-heart, will delight in this magnificent fantasy, sung in English, on April 17, 18 and 19 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Mozart's grand finale, still one of opera's most popular works more than 200 years after it was composed, will be performed by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Joseph Rescigno.
This all-new, uniquely Florentine production will be built and designed locally, and will showcase the talents of the Company's own General Director William Florescu (stage director) and Noele Stollmack (set and lighting designer).
An exceptional cast portrays a dazzling array of characters, both human and animal: Ryan McPherson as Tamino, Ava Pine as Pamina, Heather Buck as The Queen of the Night, David Cushing as Sarastro and Craig Verm as Papageno are featured in this larger-than-life fantasy.
