French Connection Comes To Canton Symphony

The French Connection comes to Canton Symphony Orchestra, as part of Classical Series VI. The concert will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 8:00 PM.

Richard Wagner's influence on his fellow composers was profound, even in France, where his own productions flopped. This program brings together the music of four Frenchmen whose work bears the stamp of Wagner's influence, including Ernest Chausson, whose lovely Poeme will occasion CSO Concertmaster Nathan Olson's solo debut with the orchestra.

FEATURING:

Gerhardt Zimmermann, conducting
Nathan Olson, violin soloist
Nathan Olson, Concertmaster

PROGRAM:

Franck - Le chausseur maudit
D'Indy – Saugefleurie
Debussy - Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun
Chausson – Poeme - Mr. Olson
