Canton Symphony Plays Madama Butterfly

Opera returns to Canton - the first full-length opera by the Canton Symphony in more than 10 years! Celebrating the conclusion of the fabulous KIMONO exhibit at the Canton Museum of Art, the CSO will present a fully costumed production of Puccini's MADAMA BUTTERFLY.

Conducted by Gerhardt Zimmermann and stage-directed by the noted Scottish opera authority Thomson Smillie, the production will be staged in front of the orchestra, using theatrical techniques from Japanese "Noh" Theater. Starring roles include the return of baritone Daniel Narducci and tenor Gran Wilson, whose performances during the 2007-2008 season brought Canton audiences to their feet.
