Michael Feinstein Performs At McCallum Theatre

"America's Ambassador of Song," Michael Feinstein, captures the essence of popular music, bringing insights and passion to the rich tapestry of songs from the big band, jazz and pop eras. Not only a top vocalist, but also a talented composer and arranger, Michael has released more than twenty diverse albums and sold out shows worldwide.

His joy in performing led him to open Feinstein's at the Regency in New York City. He brings that same intimacy to Southern California with "Feinstein's at the McCallum." The popular series continues on Friday, April 3 at 8:00pm when Michael is joined by vocal powerhouse, and McCallum Theatre favorite, Linda Eder for an evening of great duets.

Linda Eder possesses one of the great contemporary solo voices of our time, captivating audiences with a style and repertoire that covers standards, Broadway, jazz, pop, and country.

Born in Minnesota, her parents exposed her to many different types of music. Her earliest vocal influence was the Judy Garland, and as a young teenager, Barbra Streisand became her next big influence. Linda headed for Minneapolis and spent most of her 20s perfecting her vocals and stage presence working in clubs. By age 25, she was a headliner at Harrah's in Atlantic City. Her break came in 1987 with an audition for "Star Search." She won a spot on the first episode and proved unbeatable for an unprecedented 12 weeks. Her success on "Star Search" led to a leading role as Lucy Harris in the 1990 Broadway-bound musical "Jekyll & Hyde," a role she played for over 900 performances before finally arriving in 1996 at the Plymouth Theater in Manhattan. She starred on Broadway for 16 months, winning a Drama Desk Award.

Linda's fans have packed concert venues from The Greek Theater to New York's Radio City Music Hall, The Gershwin Theater, The Palace Theater, and four sold out shows at Carnegie Hall. Her concerts have been televised on Bravo and PBS. Linda created and hosted a primetime special, "Trail Mix," for Animal Planet, and has been profiled by the Bravo Network. She has appeared on televised concerts of "The Songwriter's Hall of Fame" and Julie Andrew's "Leading Ladies of Broadway." Her rendition of "Gold" was part of the opening ceremonies at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Since the debut of her self-titled first album, Linda has recorded and produced nine solo albums, blending standards, pop hits, and original songs showcasing her extravagant vocal gifts. Linda's new album, The Other Side of Me, is mostly original songs in the pop/country genre that is closest to her offstage persona.

This performance of "Feinstein's at the McCallum", featuring Michael Feinstein and Linda Eder, will be at the McCallum Theatre on Friday, April 3 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $125, $95, $75 and $65. -- www.mccallumtheatre.com
