Henry Ford Museum Plays Rock Concert

The season’s hottest opening day on May 16, 2009. Join us for the launch of Rock Stars’ Cars & Guitars 2. Live rock for fans of all ages against a backdrop of the hottest cars and coolest guitars plus awesome flashback rock memorabilia at the Henry Ford Museum.

Rock Stars’ Cars & Guitars 2 and opening day activities are free to members and free with Museum admission.

80s Inc. - On stage @ noon
Do you miss Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Duran Duran, Def Leppard and spandex? Relive rock’s Decade of Decadence.

Candy Band - On stage @ 1:30pm
Don’t deny the kids. They deserve rock ‘n’ roll, too. These four stay-at-home moms formed an authentic kid-oriented rock band in 2003 and have never looked back. They’re bold and hard-driving as only a quartet of mothers could be.

Hot Rod Lincolns - On stage @ 3:30pm
Some bands have gimmicks. And some – like the Hot Rod Lincolns – have inspired gimmicks. Imagine it; Four guys, all dressed as Honest Abe, cranking out the hits of Cheap Trick, Led Zeppelin and other famed alt bands. It’s enlightened. It’s weird. It’s the rockingest way to celebrate Abe’s 200th birthday.

For the kids: Be Rock ‘n’ Roll inspired ... temporarily!
Kids can be turned into a rock ‘n’ roll canvas. But only for a day. Tattoo artists available from 1pm-3pm. Located outside the exhibit, while supplies last.

The exhibits of the Henry Ford Museum are spread across several acres; all indoors. Comfortable clothing and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Wheelchairs and electric scooters are available to rent for a fee at the IMAX and Clock tower entrances. Electric scooter supplies are limited, please arrive early if you plan to rent one. You are welcome to bring your own wheelchairs, electric scooters and children's strollers-- however, upright electric scooters (Segways) are not allowed on premises. -- www.thehenryford.org
