
Walker Art Center celebrates the arrival of spring in May with tours that take visitors outside the Walker’s walls and onto the paths of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Tours of the Garden take place at 2 pm on May 9, 10, 14, and 28.
Visitors have an additional chance to explore the Walker campus at its springtime best on Thursday, May 14, when the Walker offers a guided exploration of the Garden’s abstract artworks as part of the Sound Bites tour series.
The outdoor fun continues on Thursday, May 21, with a second Sound Bites talk on the prefabricated FlatPak House installed in the Garden. All Sound Bites tours are held on select Thursday evenings at 6:30 and 7 pm and illuminate an artist or work of art from the Walker’s world-class collection or one of its special exhibitions.
Other May tours focus on the exhibitions Live Forever: Elizabeth Peyton, closing June 14, and The Quick and the Dead. Live Forever tours are held at 2 pm on May 3, 16, and 17 at 2 pm. The Quick and the Dead tours take place at on May 7, 15, 21, 29, and 31, also at 2 pm. -- www.walkerart.org
