
London Symphony Orchestra will play a discovery family concert Global Express, suitable for 7- to 12-year-olds.
The concert will take place on 31 May 2009 2:30 PM, at Barbican Hall.

Join the world famous London Symphony Orchestra and presenter Paul Rissmann for a whirlwind trip around the globe. Discover a ferocious Italian storm, admire a vast African desert and visit a haunted Russian fairground. You can even make music with the wonderful musicians of the LSO in our audience participation piece, Beethoven’s Ode to Joy which Paul has arranged especially for today.
The concert also features a brand new film by digital animator Victor Craven which will be shown during an exhilarating performance of Bernstein’s Candide Overture, and to finish our travels, we arrive back in the UK for a quick tour round Hogwarts!
Participation piece
The participation piece for this concert is Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy' from his Symphony No 9, specially arranged by Paul Rissmann. Don't forget to bring your instruments on the day!

Spend an enjoyable morning in the Barbican foyers creating music and fantastic artwork relating to the afternoon's family concert.
