Les Azuriales Opera Festival, France will play 'Orphee aux enfers' on Tuesday, 18 Aug, at 20:00 and Wednesday, 26 Aug 20:00, at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, Cap Ferrat.
This is the first full-length operetta ever written and follows on the success of La Belle Helene at last years' Festival. The work contains many well-known numbers, including the ever popular can-can. The opera is a parody of opera seria and quotes directly music from Gluck's Orphee.
