Quad City Youth Symphony Offers Masterworks IV

Quad City Youth Symphony Orchestra offers Masterworks IV running from Feb 6, 2010 to Feb 7, 2010.

What could be better in the midst of a cold and dreary February than the warm and spirited sounds of Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. Jon Hurty takes the podium for this performance, conducting the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, the Handel Oratorio Society, and Quad City Choral Arts.

Masterworks details are as follows:

Jon Hurty, Guest Conductor
Mary Wilson, Soprano
Andrew Garland, Baritone
Alfred E. Sturgis, Countertenor
Handel Oratorio Society and Quad City Choral Arts

Rejoining the Quad City Youth Symphony Orchestra for both works will be soprano Mary Wilson, one of today's most exciting young artists. Joining the choirs and Wilson for Carmina Burana will be baritone Andrew Garland and countertenor Alfred E. Sturgis. Laugh at the fickleness of fortune; revel in the ephemeral nature of life; and rejoice in the inevitable return of spring. -- www.qcsymphony.com
