Explore Islamic Culture At Brooklyn Museum

The Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturdays event attracts thousands of visitors to free programs of art and entertainment each month. In conjunction with the special exhibition Light of the Sufis: The Mystical Arts of Islam and as part of the city-wide celebration Islamic Culture, Muslim Voices, the June 6 Target First Saturday event presents music, dance, and film of the Islamic world.

Highlights include a Sufi-inspired musical performance by Brooklyn Qawwali Party, a demonstration which follows a cinematic glimpse into the world of whirling dervishes in I Named Her Angel, and a dance party by GlobeSonic's DJ Fabian Alsultany and DJ Pepe of Electric Lila.
