Two young, poor “bohemians”, a poet and a seamstress, discover a love so intense that they find it unbearable to be apart, yet impossible to be together. Set in the vivid, boisterous world of Paris’ 19th century Latin Quarter, this simple yet passionate story follows their tender love.
Two of opera’s greatest new talents team up for one of the most elegant pairings ever seen in this opera – Anja Harteros, who dazzled us all with her first La traviata here in San Diego, and Piotr Beczala, one of the most sought after young tenors in the opera world. Joining them as the vivacious Musetta is San Diego’s own incandescent Priti Gandhi.
