In the culmination of a season-long celebration, Seattle Symphony will commemorate the 10th Anniversary of its home, Benaroya Hall, with A Celestial Celebration, including a concert and after-party on Saturday, June 27, at 7 p.m.

Gerard Schwarz will lead the Orchestra in a performance of Holst’s The Planets, featuring the Women of the Seattle Symphony Chorale, along with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1.

Immediately following the performance, concert-goers are invited to continue the celebration at the Galactic Gathering, featuring birthday cupcakes, a no-host bar and dancing in the Samuel and Althea Stroum Grand Lobby. Admission to the Galactic Gathering is free with concert ticket purchase.

This season, Seattle Symphony has celebrated the Tenth Anniversary of Seattle’s crown jewel, Benaroya Hall. This state-of-the-art facility opened on September 12, 1998, and has since successfully operated as one of the premiere venues for live symphonic music in the world, as well as a catalyst for downtown economic development, community building, education and culture in Seattle.

The 2008–2009 season is dedicated to Becky and Jack Benaroya who have been named Honorary Chairs of the entire season for their extraordinary contribution to the creation of Benaroya Hall. At the June 27 celebration, numerous individuals who were instrumental in the creation of the Hall will be honored. -- www.seattlesymphony.org
