The Seattle Symphony Chorale announces its 29th Summer Sings season with three open choral reading sessions on select Monday nights this July. Summer Sings gives singers an opportunity to come together to sing choral masterpieces in an informal setting.

Each session is led by a prominent choral conductor from the Puget Sound region with piano or organ accompaniment. All sessions will take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on stage in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium at Benaroya Hall.

The season opens July 6 with Faure’s Requiem led by Dennis Coleman, Artistic Director of Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus. On July 13, Karen P. Thomas, Artistic Director of Seattle Pro Musica, will lead singers in Carl Orff’s Carmina burana.

On July 27, Geoffrey Boers, Director of Choral Activities at the University of Washington, will lead the reading of Mozart’s Requiem. -- www.seattlesymphony.org
