Cool Movies Come To Chicago Museum

If families need a break from the heat this summer, then they can get out of the sun and into the Chicago History Museum for the first annual Summer Movies for Kids film series. Screenings will be held on select Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

All movies are included with admission to the Museum, which means kids 12 and under are free.

On July 8, saddle up and watch An American Tail: Fievel Goes West which follows Fievel Mousekewitz and his family as they travel west in search of a place where cats and mice can live together. Unfortunately their guide, Cat R. Waul, may have his own plan. Rated G, 75 minutes.

On July 15, hit the streets with a group of New York City paper boys during the turn of the 20th century in Newsies. When their publisher, John Pulitzer, attempts to take more of their profit, these young men take matters into their own hands. Rated PG, 120 minutes.

In Cheaper By the Dozen, on July 22, see how difficult moving to Chicago can be for a family, especially when you have 12 kids. Watch as the Baker family tries to balance their new home, friends, and jobs. Rated PG, 98 minutes. -- www.chicagohistory.org
