
The real story behind the artifacts and sites featured in the much-anticipated movie sequel “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” is revealed during “A Family Weekend in Washington, D.C.” with Smithsonian Journeys July 24-26. This three-day, two-night tour gives families a chance to see the Smithsonian Institution come alive and explore landmarks of the nation’s capital that are depicted in the film.
On arrival, participants will meet “Amelia Earhart” and fellow travelers for a welcome dinner to get acquainted.
The next morning they will head over to the National Air and Space Museum to see “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” at the Lockheed Martin Imax Theater followed by a special tour of the museum. In the afternoon, participants will explore the Smithsonian on a treasure hunt searching for artifacts featured in the film.
On Sunday, a bus tour of Washington, D.C., will include stops at the Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool and the National Mall—all sites that play a role in “Night at the Museum.” Prices start at $755 based on single occupancy with $100 discount for children 8 to 15 with an accompanying adult.
