Adirondack Museum Weaves Baskets

Adirondack Museum, New York invites you to join the 'Basket Weaving' demonstration on August 6-10, 2009.

Join Yvonne Phillips as she demonstrates Native American basket weaving from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Mark W. Potter Education Center.

Yvonne Phillips is a fourth generation Native American basket weaver. Her family, Abenaki Indians originally from the Canadian border area, were a prime source of Adirondack style pack baskets nationwide.

Yvonne, who learned the art from her grandparents, hand weaves her baskets from hand felled Adirondack ash. She creates Adirondack pack baskets, candle baskets, arrow quivers, fishing baskets, wine baskets, letter holders, flower holders, and more. -- www.adkmuseum.org
