Liverpool Theatre Plays Kes

Everyman And Playhouse Theatres, Liverpool will present Kes by Lawrence Till playing from 18 September to 10 October at 19:30 pm, adapted from the novel A Kestrel for a Knave by Barry Hines.

His life revolves around her, and when he is with her, his troubles disappear...

Kes is a bittersweet story of great beauty, that examines bleak times, and the search for meaning and individuality through a child's sense of the ridiculous and the unjust.

Lawrence Till's moving 1996 stage adaptation of Barry Hines’s novel takes its title from Ken Loach's Bafta Award winning 1969 British classic film version of the same book.

A co-production with The Touring Consortium, Kes will tour the UK in Autumn 2009.

Cast includes Mike Burnside, Daniel Casey, David Crellin, Katherine Dow Blyton, Oliver Farnworth, Dominic Gately, Peter McGovern. -- www.everymanplayhouse.com
