Hawksley Workman was born as Ryan Corrigan in Huntsville Ontario. Workman has released an impressive ten albums throughout his eleven year career. He is a singer songwriter known for his blend of cabaret pop and glam rock. Workman plays guitar, drums, bass, and keyboards and does vocals. During live concerts he is known to switch between these instruments.
As well as writing, and producing most of his own albums he is also a prolific producer in the Canadian music community. Workman has produced records for the likes of Tegan and Sara, The Cash Brothers, Selena Ryder and Great Big Sea, just to name a few.
The musician has over 10,000 friends on MySpace, the social networking site geared towards entertainment and music lovers. Some of his top friends include Sarah Slean, Serena Ryder and Imogen Heap. Which is just another way to measure his stature in the music industry, he is a musician for the public first of all, but a musician for other musicians as well.
His latest album released in May of 2008 Los Manilicious has been dubbed as “intelligent, aggressive rock that sticks to your ears,” by Monday Magazine. This was his second release of last year, his other being Between the Beautifuls released in early 2008. -- www.grandtheatre.com
