Son Lux Plays At Massachusetts Museum

Massachusetts Museum Of Contemporary Art will present a concert of Son Lux with Joshue Ott on Friday, September 4, 2009, 8:00 pm, at Club B-10.

Named 2008 Best New Artist by NPR's All Songs Considered, the composer turned beatmaker Ryan Lott a.k.a. Son Lux has whipped critics and fans alike into a frenzy with what might be the most original debut album of the decade.

"Son Lux funnels classical know-how into profound modern art songs. Electronica, alt-hip-hop, chamberlike arrangements, spare piano pop and other diverse strains come together to form a striking, futuristic whole on At War with Walls & Mazes." (Time Out NY)

"If Beck recorded in a monastery, this is what he might sound like. This is the best debut album I’ve heard in years." (Paste Magazine).

His performance is accompanied here by the cinematic visual improvisations of multidisciplinary artist Joshue Ott.

The Alt Cabaret Series is supported by the Hans and Kate Morris Fund for New Music. -- www.massmoca.org
