Canberra Theatre Plays Arj Barker

Canberra Theatre, together with A-List Entertainment, Clint Paddison and Mary Tobin will play "Arj Barker's Original Style Bits & Pieces" on Thursday, 15 October 2009, at 8:00 PM.

‘Round these parts, folks expect good comedy. That’s why they won’t settle for nothin’ less than the eye waterin’. Welcome to the funny-in-your-tummy sound of Arj Barker’s Original Style Bits ‘n Pieces.

Tender observations, mixed with hearty chunks of sarcasm and delicate slices of irony, smothered in that good ol’ fashioned, unwarranted anger you love. Mmmmmm. That’s quality you can hear. That’s Original Style Bits ‘n Pieces.

Australia’s adopted son of comedy is back by popular demand, after a sell out season at last year’s Melbourne Comedy Festival. He will certainly sell out again, so come see him while he still has integrity!

Barker who won the coveted Perrier Best Newcomer Award in 1997 has firmly established himself as one of the golden boys on the international comedy circuit. For years, he has been honing his craft at comedy festivals and clubs all around the world.

He has made numerous appearances on late night talk shows, including the Letterman and Conan O'Brian shows, as well as starring in his own half hour special on the HBO produced by Comedy Central. He is also a favourite on Australian TV having appeared in Thank God You’re Here, Rove, Spicks & Specks and Good News Week.

Arj has just finished filming the second HBO series of Flight of the Concords in New York. Get it quick. This is world-class comedy. -- www.canberratheatre.com.au
