Magical Music Hall Memories At Blackpool Theatre

Duggie Chapman MBE will be showcasing his latest fascinating film presentation A 100 Years Of Music Hall at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre on Wednesday 9th September at 2pm recalling the great variety stars from the early 1920s to the 1960s.

Duggie Chapman was recently awarded the MBE for his services to Light Entertainment in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The renowned actor, producer and impresario returns to Blackpool’s beautiful Grand to bring you an hour of your favourite stars from the early Music Hall, plus an hour of the stars of the 50s and 60s filmed in the magnificent theatres – Manchester Palace, Bristol Hippodrome, Sunderland Empire, Woverhampton Grand and Victoria Palace, London.

The two hour presentation includes over 30 film clips, from the wonderful Hetty King and Sandy Powell, Billy Burdon, Edmund Hockridge, Arthur Tolcher, Chas and Dave, Bob and Alf Pearson, Jack Tripp, Andy Stewart and Leslie Sarony to the heyday of Max Bygraves and Danny La Rue. With rare clips of some fantastic speciality acts, this is a wonderfully nostalgic trip down memory lane.

Duggie’s knowledge of the old stars is incomparable and his love for the Music Hall is evident in his excellent narration which he includes before each film clip. Not to be missed… -- www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
