Fulton Opera Welcomes Dolly

Fulton Opera, Lancaster will pay Hello, Dolly! based on the book by Michael Stewart, music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, based on the play "The Matchmaker" by Thornton Wilder.

Performances will take place from September 3 to 27, 2009.

Fulton Theatre opens its 2009-10 Season with one of America's most beloved musicals. When the irrepressible matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi is hired to arrange a marriage for the miserly half-a-millionaire Horace Vandergelder, she finds him the perfect mate-herself!

But first she must rejoin the race of life she stopped running when she was widowed and win the heart of her unsuspecting "husband to be" before he gets hitched to somebody else.

Filled with elaborate turn-of-the-20th century costumes, charged with high-energy choreography and positively brimming with joyful tunes including "Put On Your Sunday Clothes," "It Only Takes a Moment" and the irresistible title song, Hello, Dolly! is a delectable treat for audiences of all ages. -- www.thefulton.org
