Thrasher Opera Remembers History

Thrasher Opera House, Wisconsin will celebrate a century of the historic Thrasher with 'Thrasher Then and Now'.

The Thrasher Opera House is celebrating 100 years as the area’s premier arts and cultural venue and community gathering place. In honor of this milestone Thrasher is hosting a Centennial gala event on Saturday, September 19, 2009.

This “Then & Now” themed fundraiser will feature a humorous musical romp through the vaudeville era by Juliana Schmidt and Timothy Lutz of “An Old Sweet Song” contrasted by the contemporary jazz vocals of Chicago-based singer Lisa Roti and pianist Jeremy Kahn.

In addition to the musical entertainment, the festive evening will include drinks, substantial hors-d’oeuvres from the area’s finest restaurants, silent and live auctions, prizes for best-dressed vaudeville costumes and a special guest appearance.
