Celebrate the beginning of the fall season by learning about gravity during Family Day from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

Designed for children and adults of all ages, Family Day offers several hands-on opportunities for all to enjoy.

This month, visitors will have variety of aerospace stations to choose from that demonstrate the force of gravity. One station will explain how parachutes work and will allow participants to try on a real parachute and to sit in an actual B-2 ejection seat.

In the Modern Flight Gallery, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., visitors of all ages can make their own free paper parachute.

"Storytime" begins at 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the Early Years Gallery. Preschool and primary-grade children are invited to sit under the wings of airplanes and listen to stories about aviation and space.

The event is free and visitors of all ages may participate in these aviation-related activities located throughout the museum galleries from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. No advanced reservations are necessary. -- www.nationalmuseum.af.mi
