Sarasota Opera Plays Magic Flute

Sarasota Opera will sing "The Magic Flute" in German with English surtitles. Mozart's final opera mixes light-hearted comedy with high-minded morals.

Prince Tamino must face numerous challenges to find and win his beloved Pamina, aided by the bird catcher Papageno.

The Magic Flute is one of the most enduringly popular of Mozart's works.

Cast includes Pamina: Maria D'Amato, Tamino: Joshua Kohl, Papageno: Sean Anderson, Sarastro : Young-Bok Kim, Queen of the Night: Lindsay Ohse.

Production team includes Conductor: Robert Tweten (debut), Stage Director: Allison Grant (debut), Set Designer: Troy Hourie, Costume Designer: Howard Tsvi Kaplan, Lighting Designer: Ken Yunker, Chorus Master: Roger L. Bingaman.
