It’s hard to describe Leo Kottke’s performing style. Words like “innovative” and “unconventional” spring to mind, but the word that probably fits best is “distinctive”.
Considered a virtuoso of both the six- and twelve-string guitar, Kottke’s music fuses folk music, jazz, blues, and his own vivid imagination into what is described as a syncopated, polyphonic whole. Between songs, he engages audiences with monologues shaped by his unique perspective.
Based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Kottke has performed all over the world, recorded 37 albums, and has been a regular guest performer on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. -- www.cityofstoughton.com
