Emmy winner, "Saturday Night Live" alumnus and comedian Dana Carvey brings his many faces and musings to the McCallum Theatre, on Saturday, October 10, at 8:00pm. Dana performs an all-new routine filled with his signature off-kilter insights into society, as well as new and familiar impressions of well-known politicians and celebrities in a variety of improbable scenarios.

While a student at San Francisco State University, Dana won the San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition. After graduating with a degree in communication arts, Dana played at numerous comedy clubs in the Bay Area, and then moved to Los Angeles in 1981 to pursue his career. In 1982, Dana landed a role as Mickey Rooney's grandson in the sitcom "One of the Boys."

In 1986, Dana got his break when he joined "Saturday Night Live." He quickly became a fan favorite with his dead-on impersonations and comedic brilliance. For seven seasons, Dana entertained viewers with his memorable characters - "The Church Lady;" "Hans" of "Hans and Franz;" "Garth" in "Wayne's World" with Mike Myers; and "Grumpy Old Man" on "Weekend Updates." He received acclaim for his flawless impersonations of political and entertainment figures, including former President George Bush, H. Ross Perot, Jerry Brown, Bob Dole, George Burns, Johnny Carson, Jimmy Stewart, Andy Rooney, and Regis Philbin.

In addition to "Saturday Night Live," Dana hosted the 1992 "MTV Music Awards" and headlined "The Dana Carvey Show." He was a member of the Showtime special "Salute to the Improvisation" with Billy Crystal, Robin Williams and Robert Klein, and performed his stand-up routines in specials for HBO, including 2008's "Squatting Monkeys Tell No Lies."

Dana also found success in moving from the small screen to the big screen. His most memorable film role was with his "Saturday Night Live" partner, Mike Myers, in which they recreated their famous Wayne and Garth characters in the box office smash Wayne's World in 1992, and the successful sequel Wayne's World 2 in 1993. Dana also appeared in The Road to Wellville, Clean Slate, Trapped in Paradise, This is Spinal Tap, Racing With the Moon, One of the Group, Blue Thunder, Tough Guys, Opportunity Knocks, and The Master of Disguise.

Dana won two American Comedy Awards for "Television's Funniest Supporting Male" in 1990 and 1991. He was nominated six times for an Emmy Award, winning in 1993 for "Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program." -- www.mccallumtheatre.com
