Opera North, England will host a performance of Amsterdam String Quartet on Sunday, 25th Oct 2009, at 3.00pm.

The Amsterdam String Quartet is one of today’s leading period instrument ensembles and is at the forefront of the early music scene, specialising in the repertoire of the golden age of the string quartet.

Marking the 200 anniversary of Austrian composer, Joseph Haydn’s death, the concert includes three of his string quartets and Mozart’s Haydn influenced string quartet, the richly harmonious D Minor KV 421.

This concert is part of the University Concert Series exploring 19th Century performance practice under the auspices of Leeds University Centre for Historically Informed Performance. --
